MAGICAL MONDAY - ALL CRITTERS GREAT AND SMALL

Hi everyone, I know this post comes a bit late, I apologize for that, but my youngest kid was sick and that kept me pretty busy. Thank God he's better now.

Yesterday was Magical Monday at Paper Cupcakes. The theme for this challenge is "Critters". You have to make a card/project with any kind of "critter" in the image - animal, bug, fish, etc. Free range in creativity and design, but your image has to incorporate a critter. You do not need to use one of our digital images to play along, but of course we would love to see a Paper Cupcakes image used. If you use a Paper Cupcake's image, you will be entered into the drawing twice to win.

MY FIRST TUTORIAL

Hi again!!! I'm very excited because this is my first tutorial. I will show how to make a candy bar card, to put a name to it. I had to prepare this tutorial for SCRAPBOOKING GALICIA, where I'm the Guest Designer for St. Valentine's Day. Yeyyyy!!!

Here is what you need to do:

You will need a piece of cardstock of 8" by 11". On the 8" side score at:

3½", 3-3/4", 4", 7½" and 7-3/4".

On the 11" side, please score at:

7" and 7¼"

Cut the below rectangle that measures 3½" x 4" and cut the above rectangle that measures ½" x 7", and do a little cut where there are the other two scores. I know it sounds complicated but it isn't. See the photos below for a better reference.

Make all the folds, except the one shown on the photo (the one that it is on 3-3/4"):

Glue as show with a strong adhesive.

To make the flower you will need:

Tissue Tape (I used one from Tim Holtz)
10" of ribbon (it has to be a little bit wider than the tissue tape)
Needle and thread

Glue the tissue tape to the ribbon.

Make a simple thread through all the ribbon's length.

Pull the thread and roll the ribbon.

Tie the two ends of thread to close the flower. Embellish as you like (I put a flower button on the center).

I have a confession to make: I've had some problems with this theme because here in Puerto Rico almost all the seasons are the same color, the skies are blue, the leaves are green, etc., practically we don't have color changing seasons, a little bit cooler or a little bit hotter and that's it. So, I have no fall pictures, no fall papers, etc. Also I have to confess I made my card in a hurry (and I apologize for that). I'm not very pleased with the result, but, hey, it's no ugly either. ...At least for me. I've been chosen to be part of the DTs for Di's Digidownloads. This will be my first time as a DT and I'm very happy and excited for that. You will be seeing her wonderful digi images and will have the opportunity to participate in her challenges starting September 10. I took a week off from work to be with my kids and took them to the beach and to different places before they are back to school. For my surprise my youngest kid became sick and was hospitalized the whole week. While at the hospital I finished this card that represents what I was planning to do this last week of their summer vacations. I hope you like it.

Saludos, espero hayan pasado un fin de semana del Día de los Padres junto a sus queridísimos papás, esposos, familiares, amigos, etc. En fin, que lo hayan pasado bien. Les había comentado que les iba a presentar unos layouts con los que había participado en los challenges del PRSB, pues lo prometido es deuda. Aquí están dos de los LO's con los que participé. Aunque no gané nada, al menos fue divertido prepararlos.

Este primer layout fue para el reto de Donna Downey en el que había que utilizar pintura acrílica y/o tela. Quise hacer de fondo (background) un cielo-mar, o cómo yo me imagino que mi hijo ve el mar, pues a él le fascina. En la foto está con los brazos abiertos y cantando una canción. Me encanta verlo así tan feliz.

Este segundo LO fue para el reto de las Glitz Girls, estilo Shabby Chic, había que utilizar rub-ons y/o transparencias. Aquí está mi chica el día de su Primera Comunión, me encanta esta foto porque se ve tan bella y tan angelical, como lo ameritaba ese día.

Saludos. El 30 de abril tuve la oportunidad de ofrecer un mini-crop a un grupo de amigas, entre ellas, a unas chicas de Jayuya. Fue un crop que, confieso, preparé con muy poco tiempo. Por eso fueron unas tarjetas bastante sencillas pero hechas con mucho amor, sólo espero que les hayan gustado y hayan disfrutado el ratito que pasamos juntas, por lo menos yo sí me lo disfruté y mucho. Aquí les muestro algunas de las tarjetas que hicimos. Iban dirigidas al Día de las Madres y al Día de los Padres.

Todas las tarjetas fueron preparadas con productos

de Stampin' Up: sellos, papeles, ponchadores,

embossing folders, etc. Excepto los papeles de la

primera tarjeta que eran de My Minds Eye y las

cintas que no sé la marca.

Esta tarjeta fue para un cumpleaños de una niña de 9 años. Los papeles,

si no me equivoco, son de Imaginisce y el sello de MFT Stamps.

Coloreado con Copics.

Esta tarjeta fue para felicitación de bodas. El papel es de la marca

que vende Walmart, que ahora no me acuerdo del nombre. La novia y las

flores fueron cortadas en la Cricut y luego le puse glitter a la novia.

Una pena que las fotos no hayan salido muy claras, pues en

persona se ve mucho mejor que en las fotos.

Saludos. Sé que he tenido un poco abandonado mi blog, pero de ahora en adelante haré lo posible para por lo menos una vez a la semana hacer una entrada, pues tengo muchos layouts para mostrarles, sólo me falta tomarles fotos. Anyway, estoy de regreso para mostrarles algunas tarjetas en las que he estado trabajando. Estar tarjetas fueron por encargos que me hicieron mis compañeras de trabajo.

Esta tarjeta la hice para el cumpleaños #9 de un chico

al que le encantan los cohetes y las cosas del espacio.

Esta tarjeta me la pidieron para el baby shower de una

pequeña princesita.

Estas tres tarjetas forman parte de una colección

de 7 tarjetas que me ordenaron para San Valentín.

Estas otras tres tarjetas son de San Valentín. Se me hizo difícil

buscar motivos masculinos para San Valentín, pero esto fue lo que se

me ocurrió, espero les guste. Las primeras dos son para niños y la

última me la ordenaron para regalársela a un maridito.

Esta tarjeta fue en la que por primera vez utilicé los Copics. El

sello es de la colección Tilda de Magnolia Stamps. Para las hojas

utilicé un die cut de Stampin' Up. Las flores son de Prima Marketing.

Los papeles son de My Minds Eye y el ponchador de Martha Stewart.

Estas tarjetas fueron coloreadas con los Copics. Los sellos son

de The Angel Company. Me encantan estas muñequitas.

Esta tarjeta es con el motivo de San Valentín para una niña.

Esta última tarjeta me la ordenaron sin ningún motivo en específico.

Espero les hayan gustado mis tarjetas. Pronto estaré de vuelta mostrándoles varios layouts que he preparado como parte de las clases que ofrecía de scrapbooking.

ESTOY DE REGRESO

Hola! Ya estoy de regreso. He estado un poco ocupada preparándome para mi regreso al mundo laboral que, después de todo, no se me hizo tan difícil. Asistí al Puerto Rico Scrapbooking Event que hubo en el Centro de Convenciones y me encantó muchísimo. Todo estuvo de show, las maestras, Yamille, la tienda, los especiales, los regalos, en fin todo. Aprendí muchísimas cosas. Aunque fue un poco "cansón", el año que viene, si Dios lo permite, voy de nuevo. Les dejo con unos layouts que preparé para participar en el concurso del evento, al cual, después de todo, no pude ir, ni participar. De todas maneras, disfruté muchísimo haciéndolos.

La flor está cubierta de microbeads transparentes y crystal lacquer.

Las flores están hechas con cintas, crystal lacquer y glitter.

La calidad de las fotos no es muy buena.

Me hace falta un curso de fotografía, pero espero las puedan apreciar.

MUCHAS, MUCHAS COSAS

Primero que nada, felicidades a todas las Madres. Espero que la hayan pasado super bien. Hacía tiempo que no publicaba nada, pero es que he tenido mucho trabajo últimamente; además de que todavía no me he preparado ni física, ni mental, ni en términos de nada, para volver al mundo laboral como secretaria legal, profesión que ejercí por casi 20 años antes de dedicarme de lleno a las manualidades; pero como la vida da muchas vueltas y ya los chicos están en la escuela, pues tengo que regresar a trabajar para obtener un sueldo seguro. Bueno, basta de blah, blah, blah. Les voy a dejar con las fotos de algunas de las cositas en que estuve trabajando. Las primeras fotos son de unos regalitos y una tarjeta que preparé para las maestras de mi hija.

El papel es de SU y el sello de la manzanita es de Imaginisce.

Estas fotos son de un note pad holder y un pencil holder.

Los papeles de escuela son de Me and My Big Ideas. Las manzanas de los

lápices fueron hechas con la Cricut (Plantin Schoolbook).

La idea del pencil holder fue tomada de un blog (Bean Talk).

Y el Note Pad Holder fue de un tutorial de You Tube. Ahora

mismo no tengo las referencias, pero las conseguiré luego.

Esta tarjeta de las madres la preparé para una amiguita

muy especial. El sello es un Digi Stamp de Boogaboo

y el papel es de DCWV.

Esta tarjeta fue la que preparé para mi mamá. Es un

Digi Stamp también, pero ahora no me acuerdo de dónde.

Por último, esto es un modelo de una invitación para Baby Shower.

La idea fue tomada de un tutorial de You Tube. El pañal

solito sirve también como party favor con una bolsita de dulces,

de chocolates, o de lo que quieras, adentro. El papel es

de DCWV y los sellos son de The Angel Company.

Todos los sellos fueron pintados con lápices de colores Softcolour de Derwent y la técnica de mineral spirit. Cualquier pregunta que tengan, me pueden dejar un mensaje. Gracias por visitarme.

SEPTIMA CLASE DE TARJETERIA

Ok. Esta es la séptima clase de tarjetería que estoy ofreciéndole a las chicas nuevas. Esta vez las mantuve simples (hasta donde pude, jajaja), pues ellas se quejan que no les da tiempo de hacer las tres tarjetas. Esta vez el tema es la Navidad. Para todas estas tarjetas utilicé los sketchs de la revista Go-to-Sketches de Paper Crafts Magazines. Espero les gusten. La semana que viene comenzaremos con las invitaciones. No se lo pierdan!!!

Los papeles son de DCWV, cardstock de Bazzill, y el sello

de CTMH de la colección Christmas Melodies. El border

punch es de Martha Stewart.

Los papeles son de DCWV, los sellos de CTMH de

la colección Evergreen; también utilicé los Stickles.

Los papeles son de DCWV, cardstock de Bazzill, los scalloped circles

son de Nestabilities, el sello de Santa Claus es de esos que uno

compra por ahí (no trajo marca), el otro sello es de SU de la

colección Just Beclause. Está pintado con lápices de colorear de

la marca Derwent Softcolour, con la técnica de mineral spirit; y lo

que se ve puffed es con Liquid Appliqué de Marvy Uchida al que

se le aplicó calor con el Heat Gun.

INVITACION DE CUMPLEAÑOS

Esta es una muestra de unas invitaciones que me ordenaron para celebrar el cumpleaños número 60 de una señora. Los papeles son de K & Company y el de los puntitos es de American Crafts. El swirl, el círculo y el número 60 fueron hechos con la Cricut. También utilicé Liquid Pearls en White Opal. Espero que a ella le guste.

CHALLENGE DE MARZO

El challenge para el mes de marzo era que debía ser monocromático en color violeta e incluir tags. Yo hice estas páginas sobre la boda de mi hermano, aunque no se ven muy bien traté de acercar algunos detalles.

Este ramo de novias fue realizado con el cartridge Tie the Knot de Cricut.

La novia también fue hecha con el cartridge Tie the Knot de la Cricut.

SEGUNDA CLASE DE TARJETERIA

No había podido escribir antes, pues tenía mucho trabajo. Estas son algunas de las tarjetas que ofrecí en la segunda clase de tarjetería. Las estudiantes utilizaron por primera vez el "trimmer", tuvieron que aprender a medir y a cortar, aprendieron a estampar y a utilizar el "Crystal Lacquer". Estaban muy contentas con sus clases. El tema era San Valentín.

Sorry I couldn't write before, but I had much work to do. These are some of the cards offered on the second day of card making classes. The students used the trimmer for the first time. They had to learn to measure and cut, to stamp, and they learned how to use the Crystal Lacquer. They were very happy with their classes. The theme was St. Valentine's Day.

MUCHOS LAYOUTS

Hola. Estos son algunos de los muchos layouts que hice el año pasado. Como fueron hechos hace tiempo, no tengo la lista de los materiales que utilicé. Que los disfruten.

Con este layout quedé en tercer lugar en la Convención de

Scrapbooking de Puerto Rico. El tema era "Sólo en Puerto Rico".

Detalles de la palma (con glitter) y de las olas (que tienen microbeads).

El tema de la fiesta era negro y blanco, así que

aprovechando eso hice el layout de esa forma también.

El osito está hecho a mano en "paper piecing".

Mi hija se puso ese día los mahones de sombrero y decidí

hacer el layout con ese tema.

Detalles de mi angelita.

Aunque estas fotos son de piscina, quise resaltar con flores y mariposas

lo femenina y delicada que se ve mi hija en las fotos.

Estos layouts fueron de un crop que ofrecí en la tienda

PRIMERA CLASE DE TARJETERIA

Como les había comentado, este sábado, 20 de febrero, comienzan las clases de tarjetería impartidas por mí. Como son estudiantes principiantes, que no saben nada de "Scrapbooking" ni de tarjetería, pues debo comenzar por lo básico. Así que después de explicarles todo acerca de los tipos de papeles, tipos de pega, etc., etc., les enseñaré a hacer 2 tarjetas sencillitas. Así que aquí están las fotos de las tarjetas que les enseñaré a hacer. Espero les gusten.

Hi, as I told you before, this Saturday, February 20, I will start teaching card making. Because the students don't know anything about scrapbooking and card making, I will have to start with the basics. So after explaining them about the different kind of papers, glue kinds, etc., etc., I will teach them how to do these 2 simple cards. Here are the photos. I hope you like them.

Todos los sellos son de The Angel Company, Cardstock de Bazzill y el papel de Imaginisce. Los sellos están pintados con lápices de colores regulares.

All the stamps are from The Angel Company, Bazzill Cardstock, and the paper is from Imaginisce. They are painted with regular colored pencils.

Aquí otra tarjeta que acabo de hacer. El cardstock es de Bazzill, el papel de K & Company, el sello de la nena y el Crystal Lacquer es de The Angel Company, y el sello de la frase es de Stampendous. Además tiene botones y rhinestones.

Hola, ya estoy por aquí de nuevo. Sólo he hecho 2 ó 3 trabajitos porque he estado muy ocupada en estos días. Pronto estaré dando unos talleres de tarjetería, así que iré publicando mis trabajos aquí en el blog. Les incluyo varias fotos. Espero les gusten.

Hola, es la primera vez que tengo un blog. Así que paciencia conmigo, jajaja. Creé este blog con la idea de compartir mis trabajos y de conocer otras personas que disfrutan haciendo Scrapbooking y Tarjetería. Pertenezco a varios clubs de scrapbooking, entre ellos, Scrapbooking Divas (del cual soy Vicepresidente) y a Scrapbooking Puerto Rico. Ofrezco talleres y crops. También soy parte del Liceo de Arte del Sur, que es una corporación sin fines de lucro dedicada a ofrecer talleres gratis de autogestión y autoempleo a personas de escasos recursos económicos a través de toda la Isla de Puerto Rico. Pronto estaré compartiendo mis trabajos con ustedes.
